Hot Off  The Press

ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Come join your neighbors for “Irish Night” at the Heritage Pines Clubhouse on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at 6:00 pm.

A traditional Irish dinner of corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots will be catered by Connolly’s Pub. Irish soda bread, desserts and Irish coffee will round out the menu.

Entertainment will be highlighted by piper David Saxton. The cost is $12.00 per person and the deadline for signing up is noon, Monday, March 7.

Attendance will be limited to 80 so get your reservations in today. If you have ay questions, please contact Frank Hanrahan.

CLUBHOUSE ANNIVERSARY
OPEN HOUSE

The fourth anniversary of the Heritage Pines Community was an afternoon to remember thanks in part to the amazing performance by harpist, Anita Burroughs-Price. Her wonderfully varied selection of numbers included something for everyone. The decadently delicious desserts and champagne punch added to the festivities. Many thanks to all who helped setup, serve and clean up.

DEFIBRILLATOR UPDATE

On February 7th, the defibrillator team held their first meeting at the HP clubhouse.

Captain Jack Frazier of the Cary Fire Department was present to review the equipment, its location and the makeup of the committee. He was very generous in his praise for what the committee has done so far. The team members expressed an interest in receiving training in CPR as well as AED and Kevin Williams, who trains area firefighters and members of the police force, has agreed to train our members. Heritage Pines will be connected to the main dispatch system so if a call is placed they can walk us through the procedures until paramedics arrive. More able team members are needed. For information and to volunteer, please contact Tim Mannix.

Clubhouse

Clubhouse Programs:

Ballroom Dancing

Tony and Terri Zalapi will continue the Monday night dancing sessions but signups will be on the regular sign up sheet starting with March. Beginners are welcome and are urged to come for fun and exercise. The lessons are $4.00 per person per night, checks made payable to HPCA and as with other activities, you pay for a full month at a time. All the popular dances will be taught. Any questions, please call Terri and Tony.

Time Change for Day Bunco

Day Bunco will be held on the fourth Monday of each month but will begin at 1:00 pm instead of 1:30. If you have any questions, please call Tina Caffera.

Ladies Surprise Pot Luck Lunch

The March luncheon on Tuesday, the 15th at 12:30 will be hosted by Mary Schroeher and Jean Tiedemann.
Reservations are on the regular sign up sheet and the deadline is Monday, March 14th at noon.

New Bus Trips

Please note the bus trips in this month’s calendar since several of them will be new adventures for the residents of Heritage Pines. The Rodeo at the Fairgrounds, March 5th, and History ala Carte at the History Museum, March 9th, promise excitement and fun for all. Imax Theatre’s NASCAR 3D, March 31st, should be thrilling and lunch at Chamomile Cottage, March 22nd, in north Raleigh a delicious taste treat. Sign up early.

Neighborhood Events:

The musical “Guys and Dolls” will be presented at Green Hope High School on April 7, 8 and 9 at 7:30 pm in the school auditorium and the GH theatre classes will present their spring showcase on April 27 at 7:30 also in the auditorium. On May 3 at 7:30, the Spring Choral concert will take place.
