Hot Off  The Press

1st Saturday Night —
”Pot Luck Dinner”

The March 1st Saturday pot luck dinner is being hosted by members of the couples bridge group and will be held at the clubhouse on Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 5:30 pm. The deadline for reservations was noon, Monday 2/18. If you are interested, you can be added to the waiting list. Cost is $1.00. Dishes should include main courses, vegetables/salads and desserts. If you are signed up, please call Sue and Mickey Brescia with your choice of dish as soon as possible.

St. Patrick’s Day Party

On March 15, 2008, the St. Patrick’s Day Party will be held in the clubhouse starting at 5:30 pm. The traditional dinner of corned beef, cabbage, mashed potatoes, parsley sauce, carrots, Irish soda bread and dessert will be catered by the Hibernian Restaurant. The cost is $17.00 per person and the deadline to register is noon, Monday 2/25. Selection will be by lottery and the drawing will be at 2:00 pm the same day. Please make out a separate check for this event. Hosts for the party are Mary and Bob Hodes. Don’t forget to think “green.”

Computer Classes

Free internet computer classes will be held at the clubhouse in March. Details are in the newsletter addendum.

Ladies Luncheon

The March ladies’ luncheon will be held on Tuesday, March 18 at 12:30 pm in the clubhouse. It will be a “carry out” lunch and the hosts are Laly Gener and Priscilla Ruskay. The speaker, David Latham, will talk about historic sites in NC. More info in the addendum. The deadline to
register is noon Monday, 3/3 and there is a $2.00 fee.

Music Night at the
Clubhouse

The first music night at the
clubhouse will be held on
Saturday, March 29, 2008,
beginning at 7:00 pm. The music maker for the night is Paul Minnis who has entertained at Heritage Pines many times. The
reservation fee is $6.00 and please bring your own snacks and beverages. The sign up deadline is noon, Monday 3/17. Dance demonstrations will be given
during the evening and community requested group dance songs will be featured. Time to perk up your ears, tap your toes, flex your feet and have some fun!

You may turn in your signup sheet beginning 10 am, Thursday, February 21, during office hours. None will be accepted before that time. Any sheets shoved under the door will not be accepted. If you are unable to deliver your sign up sheet to the office, you may ask a neighbor or friend to take your sheet. Each resident is limited to one (1) extra sheet. Thank you for your patience as we try to work on making event sign up pleasurable for everyone. A separate check is required for the “lottery events”.
