A Note from the President Where has the year gone? It seems like just yesterday we were emptying the clubhouse and getting ready for the renovation. The final things for that should be finished before the New Year and then we have to start the repairs on the 10 years of wear and tear.
Just a reminder of the Annual meeting of the
Homeowners on Also there will be a Candidates night on November 30 from 7 pm to 8 pm for you to talk to and question the candidates running for the Heritage Pines Board. It is getting harder and harder to get people to plan and run social events for Heritage Pines. The Board and Social committee are exploring ways to solve this problem and we are asking all of you to fill out the survey that is in the newsletter and turn it in to the office. I wish Peace and Good Health to all of you for the Holidays and the New Year.,

Another Year Has Gone By!
As 2010 draws to a close, we would like to say
thank you for trusting your landscape maintenance to Brickman. This year was
full of successes,
As the winter draws in, we would like to remind
you to keep watering!!! Even as the grass and plants go dormant, they still
need water!! In the winter, a lot of damage (even death) can happen to
plants and grass through the combination of freezing temperatures and wind.
Please monitor you
Remember fall and winter are great times for
planting, so let us know if there are any projects with which you need help.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
Thank You,
Grounds Committee

Year end project summary
Replacing dead or dying trees at the constructed
wetland at Franklin Hills Point with Bald Cypress trees, removing Wax
Myrtles that were planted along the fence edges to preclude future
maintenance problems, and adding Beautyberry Bushes between the trees on the
Installing 4 lawn hydrants and purchasing ¾ inch
hoses with sprinklers. These lawn hydrants which tap the irrigation main
lines that are charged from the clubhouse pond will enable us for the first
time to bring irrigation to three common areas along Knotts Valley Lane and
Sawgrass Hill Court as well as a common area next to the dam at the
clubhouse pond. With the success we have seen from the over-seeding of these
areas we should be able to promote better fescue coverage next spring and
summer.
Stormwater BMP Inspections
We successfully passed our required storm water
inspection on October 30th for six level spreaders and two scour holes after
completing repairs to them.
These repairs totaled $9,750 which was met with
funds from within our approved 2010 grounds budget. This completes our
inspections for this year. Next year’s annual inspections will start in
March 2011 and it is expected that any repairs will be incidental and not
extraordinary. Our proposed 2011 budget provides for routine maintenance and
repairs to these permitted storm water structures. |
