A Note from the President It looks like Spring is trying to come. The trees on Cary Parkway are blooming and the few 70 degree days are encouraging. I’m sure all of us are ready for it.
The Board has appointed Angelo Vivelo as the new
Board member replacing Emmett Waller, who resigned last month due to health The Clubhouse will be undergoing some major repairs on the outside in the coming months. We need some major concrete work done. So please have patience and cooperate with the signs and warnings that will be posted.

Bus Trip to Barn Dinner
Theatre
Are there any Patsy Cline fans in Heritage
Pines? Would you like to hear some of the songs that made her famous?
Then get ready to come along with us on Tuesday,
April 5, to the Barn Dinner Theater in Greensboro. A brand new AT&T coach
will pick us up at the Clubhouse around 10:45AM and take us to the theater
where we will have a buffet lunch and then see the show, "A Closer Walk with
Patsy Cline.". Afterwards, we will return home on the same comfortable bus
and be back in time to watch your favorite TV show.
Total cost for this trip is $71.70 – a bargain
when you realize that lunch, a show, and all transportation is included in
the price. We have room for 46 people on the bus so make your reservation
with us as soon as possible if you want to go.
March 4 is the first deadline, after that date
the trip will open for your guests. The final trip deadline is March 9. Your
reservations require a separate check, if we do not fill the bus your check
will be returned.

We would like to add one or two new members to
the Architectural Review Committee. This is your opportunity to help the
community as a volunteer.

We have a closet full of VHS movies that may be
borrowed . They are located in the clubhouse main room left closet on the
bookshelf.
Cary Town Hall Meeting
There will be a Cary Town Hall meeting on
Thursday, February 24, at which time various submitted petitions will be
discussed.
It was suggested by our Council person that
residents of Heritage Pines and surrounding communities attend to present
our objections to
TOWN HALL MEETING
Thank you so much for your generous donation of
approximately 300 pounds of food! I just learned that you didn't receive the
note I sent awhile back, so I wanted to be sure you knew how much we
appreciated your generosity, then and now.
Each year, Dorcas Ministries is able to feed
several thousand of our neighbors in need, and this is due largely to the
kindness of people like you who keep our pantry shelves stocked.
We'll be moving to a new location sometime this
spring, and are looking forward to the extra space (and parking!) at the
Cary Plaza. Please keep us in mind - not only for future donations, but in
case you know someone who might be in need of emergency food or financial
assistance.
I can't think of a neighborhood in Cary that
hasn't been represented by an applicant for our services over the past few
years. Not only does it take grace to give help, but it also takes grace to
be able to ask for help when it's truly needed. We all like to think we're
self-sufficient, but life happens, as the saying goes.
We are so blessed to have as current volunteers
your neighbors, Myrna Worsley, Mary Campbell and Chig Hill. Without
volunteers like them, and donors like all of you, Dorcas Ministries would
not be able to fulfill our mission, Providing Help When it Counts.
Best regards,

We have received enough responses from residents
for us to order the new mailbox posts. Those of you who have put your name
on the list for a new post, please bring a check to the office for $155 if
you want us to arrange for installation or $80 if you intend to install it
yourself. This includes all shipping and taxes. The checks must be in the
office by Friday, March 25, 2011. If you have any questions, please call the
office.
Those of you who have not put your name on the
list, but want a new post, we are ordering extras, so please bring your
checks to the office also. We will have posts available for those of you who
decide later on that you want a new one installed.
The application of pine straw and mulch in the
common areas of Heritage Pines has been a full application to all common
areas in the fall and a partial application to selected common areas in the
spring. This year, the application will switch with a full application
occurring in mid to late April and the partial application occurring in the
late fall based on available budget funds.
The Grounds Committee felt that this would
present a better view of our community in the spring and summer with a full
application occurring in mid to late April and the partial application
occurring in the late fall based on available budget funds. The Grounds
Committee felt that this would present a better view of our community in the
spring and summer months when people are out and about, walking, and
enjoying the outdoors in our community.
We will again have signup sheets in the
clubhouse beginning in mid March for individual lot owners who want their
areas mulched or pine strawed with Pine Straw Distributors (PSD). PSD prices
will be provided along with their estimate of quantities required with the
signup sheets in the clubhouse. It is the individual’s responsibility to
coordinate their requirements with PSD and to pay PSD upon receiving an
invoice.
As a reminder it is the responsibility for all
owners to keep their planting beds and tree rings refreshed and presenting a
good appearance whether or not you elect to use PSD. Also, Villa owners are
reminded that hardwood mulch is required for any planting bed or tree ring
within 10 feet of their building in accordance with Town of Cary Ordinance
regarding fire safety.
